Dear Professor,

I am so sorry that your reply was blocked out by my QQ e-mail and I didn't see it until now! I thought there was no reply from Gfs_devel. Actually, I have started reading the Gerris source codes, but it is really difficult to understand for a beginner without any guidance. Since you suggested that I should use Basilisk rather than Gerris, would it be better if I turn to use Basilisk now? I have been studying Gerris for almost two months, including reading your articles in 2003 and 2009. Now I can use Gerris language to design and simulate simple problems. I am wondering whether this experience would help if I turn to Basilisk. Should I use Basilisk instead of Gerris now?

I am looking  forward to your reply.

Best regards,
Ray

Dear Ray,

Have you read:

http://gfs.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Gerris_Flow_Solver_Programming_Course_for_Dummies

You should also consider using Basilisk rather than Gerris, as it is a
much simpler code.
