Awbury Arboretum's Board and staff wish to express our solidarity
with the Black community and the efforts to end
anti-Black violence, oppression and injustice.
The Arboretum is free and open to the community and welcomes all
to find respite in nature.
Black Lives Matter
The mission of the Awbury Arboretum Association is to preserve and interpret Awbury's historic house and landscape, thereby connecting an urban community to nature and history. The arboretum remains open for everyone from dawn to dusk, 7 days a week, all year long.
The Francis Cope House is open to the public Mondays-Thursdays from 10am-4pm except for reserved events. To schedule your own special event please use this link to contact us.

Whether it is with yoga, meditation, dance or a simple stroll through our enchanting landscape and trails, nearly 5000 new or returning participants utilize Awbury's affordable (and often free) opportunities to improve personal wellness each year.
As a non-profit organization, Awbury commits much time and effort to provide health-focused activities either completely free of charge or by affordable donations, which go directly to instructors during the wellness activity. Simply put, Awbury is here to be a local source of healthy and accessible activities.

August: Solitary Sandpiper
Our first member of the waterfowl family – the Solitary Sandpiper (Tringa solitaria) – is August’s bird of the month. A migratory bird passing through these parts during August and September, the Solitary Sandpiper is drawn to shady streamsides, wooded swamps and ponds, flooded ditches, and fresh marshes where it forages for insects and aquatic invertebrates.

On the Beech Hollow Trail
See the outdoor paintings featuring wild animals posted in the beech grove by artist Ann Hopkins Wilson. This exhibition will be on display April 22 through October 31, 2022 from dawn until dusk. Admission is FREE. No registration required.
