Hi All,
The Fedora Program team is seeking Expressions of Interest to Host the 2025 Fedora Camp.
Fedora Camps, previously a staple of Fedora community programming, took a hiatus during the global pandemic as people are seeking new opportunities to engage, we are looking to re-launch the Fedora Camp in 2025! We are aiming to host the Fedora Camp in late summer or early Fall 2025, but can be flexible depending on the availability of the selected Host location.
If you would like be the Fedora Camp Host for 2025, we encourage you to reach out to Fedora Program Manager Arran Griffith (arran.g...@lyrasis.org)
with your response to the following before Monday, February 17, 2025:
Expression of Interest (EOI) Requirements:
The Host must cover the cost of the venue (whether by offering your own space or paying the rent on a venue). All other costs (transportation, catering, supplies, etc.) will be covered by the Fedora Program.
The ideal Host venue should have:
o Space for up to 100 attendees total, with room for at least two simultaneous tracks
o Possible pre-conference workshop facilities with appropriate A/V equipment.
o Wireless internet capable of supporting 100+ simultaneous connections, at no extra charge for conference attendees.
o A location that conveniently located within a reasonable travel distance to an airport and hotels (or other accommodations, such as student housing)
o A local planning committee willing to help with organization
§ Fedora Program team or planning committee members can assist with this as well
The Host will not be responsible for developing the Fedora Camp program, pre-conference events, sponsorships, or social events. This will be handled by the Fedora Program Team and organizing committee. If you would like to be part of the organizing committee, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/bw3LLrCxWtgjP5PZ6
The Host selection will be chosen by the Fedora Program team in consultation with the planning committee and all applicants will be notified of the selection details.
Cheers,
Arran
