Hi Everyone,

Welcome to 2025. I hope you all had a nice break and are back recharged, relaxed and ready to tackle 2025 head on!

Last month, the Fedora Governance group had its final meeting of 2024. The hybrid meeting took place in Washington, D.C. following CNI with some members joining via Zoom. Discussions focused on community growth, technology developments and priorities, and continuing ways to support our global users. Full meeting notes can be found here on the Fedora wiki.

Looking toward 2025 there are some clear strategic goals for the Fedora program which will benefit all users, including:

  • Software improvements to increase security and long-term sustainability
  • Documentation improvements to increase accessibility and useability
  • A revised communication strategy focusing on the use of Fedora for digital preservation advocacy, and continued support for open source technologies

As always, we will continue to share community activities and important events via our regular communication channels. I hope you will consider how you can make a difference in the Fedora community by getting involved. We welcome users of all skills and abilities – there’s something for everyone. Thank you for your continued support.

Cheers,

Arran
