Hello Everyone,

The Fedora community, in collaboration with the Fedora Governance Group, is hosting a series of AI discussions for anyone interested in exploring the evolving impact of AI on repositories, infrastructure, and the work we're doing within our institutions. These sessions offer a collaborative space to tackle the challenges and opportunities AI brings.

This series of discussions are not intended to be specifically Fedora-focused. We’re inviting anyone curious about the topic—whether you're already navigating AI in your work or just beginning to explore its effects, our hope is to provide the space to bring people together to share ideas, collaborate, and learn from each other.

Details:

  • Next Meeting: Monday, November 4th @ 11am Eastern (Reminder to those in EU/UK that daylight savings will end on October 27th but not in North America until Nov 3rd, so please double check your calendars so we don’t miss you!)
    • Meetings will take place monthly on the first Monday of each month.
  • Zoom link to join: https://lyrasis.zoom.us/j/86740044348?pwd=IThObpaXSEqP5PmfS0be132udZ2YuT.1
  • If you would like to be added to the recurring calendar invitation, please email arran.g...@lyrasis.org.

Some discussion ideas that have come from previous conversations include:

  • Understanding the types of attacks that are happening.
  • Looking at what systems have people put in place to protect against attacks.
  • How we’re resolving them
  • What folks are seeing when they happen.

Please feel free to join for one, some or all of the scheduled meetings. Registration is not required – simply feel free to drop in. Hope to see you there.

Cheers,

Arran
