Fedora Funding Campaign

This past spring, we launched the Fedora Funding Campaign with the goal of raising $25,000 to support work identified as high-priority by the community. As a program, our ongoing mission is to deliver robust, secure and reliable software that safeguards and preserves the invaluable content in your repositories worldwide. To accomplish these tasks in a timely manner, we are inviting community members to show your support by contributing to this campaign and helping us continue our vital work. Your commitment will make a significant impact on the future of Fedora and the global community we serve.

To date we have raised $16,000 thanks to contributions from the following institutions:

At this time I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jon Dunn for his contributions and guidance as he completes his term as Governance Chair. It was thanks to Jon’s leadership that we accomplished a long list of strategic endeavors to continue solidifying the Fedora program’s future sustainability. Jon’s expertise and cross-community involvement helped guide the conversations that led to the formation of the Hyrax Fedora 6 Working Group. He was also instrumental in finalizing the Community Roadmap which now serves as a tool to guide program priorities for the next 18-24 months. We look forward to his future contributions to Governance as a contributing member. Thank you Jon for all you’ve done.

With Jon’s term complete, we are excited to welcome Kate Dohe from the University of Maryland as the incoming Chair. We look forward to another incredible year under her guidance and leadership.

Fedora Registry

With the launch of the new Fedora website, we have also moved the Fedora Registry. In order to see the most accurate information on global Fedora installations, we are asking all users to submit their updated Fedora information via our new registry submission form.

This new form allows you to register multiple Fedora instances in one submission, eliminating the need for multiple entries.

The registry’s goal is to help us understand our install base, and what versions of Fedora are being used globally. This critical information allows the program team to continue to provide the support necessary for our entire community of users.
