Albert:  A lot depends on the temperature extremes where you live.  For the most part, Shepherds adapt to cold weather just fine.  Our explosive detector shepherd would rather sleep outside than in.  When he does come in, he likes the basement floor.  My personal drug detection shepherd likes indoors all the time and that's usually his work environment.

Give it a try.  Your dog might bark or whine when you start doing that because of the separation though.

Question is,
When we go outside for work or go to bed at night, is it OK to leave my shepherd in an insulated dog house kept in a fenced dog kennel?
when we're home, dog will stay with us all the time.
The breeder tells me no issues with that as long as I start doing this while he's 6 months old.
What do you think?
