We can offer a couple of free tickets to our next Oral History event with Ika Huegel-Marshall on
Saturday, September 29, at 1:00 p.m.
at Castro Theatre in San Francisco
Ika will read from her autobiography "Invisible Woman: Growing Up Black in Germany" (Originally: "Daheim Unterwegs: Ein deutsches Leben"). Her bilingual reading is part of the 17th Berlin & Beyond Film Festival, presented by the Goethe-Institut San Francisco and co-sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG), the Foreign Language Association of Northern California (FLANC), and our Gerlind Institute for Cultural Studies.
Her reading will be followed at 2 p.m. by Dr. Dagmar Schultz’s documentary "Audre Lorde - The Berlin Years 1984 to 1992." The filmmaker will be present. The tickets are valid for the reading and the film.
We will have an info table at the Castro Theatre before the reading and look forward to welcoming you to these two special events!
Alles Gute, all the best,
Marion Gerlind
