There is a known issue caused by an OpenSSL bug on 64-bit zoom client 5.16.x on some Windows systems. We've opened a ticket to OpenSSL and the fix is on the way. So if 32-bit zoom client 5.16.10 can solve your issue, please use it as a workaround and wait for our official fix.

I have been struggling with this same problem since the beginning of October. I have tried all solutions that are posted without success. Why can't ANY of them suggest loading an OLDER version of Zoom with instructions on how to do it? Also, what is this "Zoom Cloud Meetings" crap? Turns out it appears to be doublespeak for regular Zoom. So here is a novel idea:

My goodness, thank you so much. I had the exact same problem as OP which started the day I installed the 2023-10 Windows 10 update. I fixed it by uninstalling the latest version of Zoom, then installing Zoom 5.16.1 via -us-zoom.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions. I spent a few hours trying to figure this out! I don't know why I waited so long to visit this forum.

Thank you so much Bruce! I have not used zoom on my desktop for a couple of months. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't start my meeting this morning or even join as a participant. It has been a frustrating morning. I have spent the last 5 hours trying to fix this problem for another meeting tomorrow morning. After trying many failed fix attempts I came across this form with your suggestion and guess what? IT WORKED! I agree with your comments and again thank you!

I also have been trying to get Zoom working on my laptop. I had been having inperson meetings, so I hadn't used Zoom on it for awhile. I've uninstalled, installed, cleaned, and restarted my laptop I don't know how many times. So glad I found this forum! Thank you BruceP (and others) for taking away my frustration! I greatly appreciate it!

Now that I know how to fix the problem, it is easier to find out more about the problem. It appears Zoom version 5.16.X, 64-bit version is broken, at least for some computers. The 32 bit version reportedly works. Otherwise uninstall the latest version and download version 5.15.11.

ZoomIt is a screen zoom, annotation, and recording tool for technical presentationsand demos. You can also use ZoomIt to snip screenshots to the clipboard or to a file.ZoomIt runs unobtrusively in the tray and activates with customizablehotkeys to zoom in on an area of the screen, move around while zoomed, and draw onthe zoomed image. I wrote ZoomIt to fit my specific needs and use it in all mypresentations.

The first time you run ZoomIt it presents a configuration dialog thatdescribes ZoomIt's behavior, let's you specify alternate hotkeys forzooming and for entering drawing mode without zooming, and customize thedrawing pen color and size. I use the draw-without-zoom option toannotate the screen at its native resolution, for example. ZoomIt alsoincludes a break timer feature that remains active even when you tabaway from the timer window and allows you to return to the timer windowby clicking on the ZoomIt tray icon.

I just switched from Mac to Windows. On my macbook I used to be able to zoom and pan using pinch and two-finger motions on the touchpad of my laptop, but on my new computer this is not working. I don't know if it's relevant, but this new laptop has a touchscreen. I found some other threads discussing a similar issue for an earlier version of indesign, and supposedly this was resolved a while back. However, running the latest version I am not able to use my trackpad as desired and it's quite frustrating as this is my preferred way of working. Is there a setting that I can change to fix this?

I'm a Mac user so I can't speak directly for Windows. But if you go to Edit > Preferences and click on the Interface section at left, you may find an option to "Enable Multi-Touch Gestures". Not sure if you have this on Windows or not but this might help. Can you use pinch and zoom in other programs on your computer?

Hey. I had this same problem and it was infuriating me. I fixed by ticking this box. Though it might have now broken zoom when using a mouse (cant test right now), the touchpad now does pinch to zoom.

I used to use ZoomWin: -scripts/ZoomWin for toggle between one and multiple windows in Vim. But this plugin has one big issue. When I`m trying to restore multiple windows(vertical split) there is about 2-4 sec delay.

I try to use vim without any plugins as I don't want to rely on them when I work on another system. Coming upon this same issue now, I can propose some 'better ways' (alternative ways) as requested by the OP:

The ZoomWin version 24 introduced saving of window-local variables. When I've tried it out, I found the performance unacceptable, probably because of the various other plugins that I have installed and which install various event handlers.

May I please introduce a problem which I am having? I am using Rhino 3 and have been for over a decade. I have replaced my computer several times. When I started using Rhino I loaded it on Windows XP, and now I use it with Windows 7. I have a problem which has shown itself off and on each time I load the software on a new computer. The problem is with the dynamic zoom when I roll the scroll wheel on my mouse.
My preference is that when I use the scroll wheel, the zoom will go directly to the spot where my cursor is, but often after reloading the software on a new computer, when I zoom with the wheel it goes to whatever is in the center of the viewport. It is very frustrating and adds time to my projects.
Is there anyone who had experienced this problem and found a remedy?

Could your problem be related to this:
Apparently in combination with ICloud software decimal input can be a problem:
McNeel Forum After importing mesh from STL I can't input numerical values with decimalMaurizio, can you please try the test command TestDecimalPointPrintingAndScanning Like all test commands,it will not autocomplete What result does that give, if any? (I'm not sure it got into the public build yet) @dalelear, I'm not sure if...

Hi Lene- in the current service release candidate, please try the testDecimalPoint command (renamed in the latest to the shorter name) You can get the service release candidate automaticallt by setting the 'Update frequency' in Options > Updates and Statistics page to 'Service release candidate'.

I still have the issue - I can't change the Scale Factor to whole numbers, 1 does'nt work, as established above, 2 turns the direction of the zoom to the opposite of what I'm used to. Secondly the zoom jumps in to large steps ... I'm working with Rhino 5,0 ... Hope someone can help - it is taking me to much time to work like this

Maurizio, can you please try the test command TestDecimalPointPrintingAndScanning Like all test commands,it will not autocomplete What result does that give, if any? (I'm not sure it got into the public build yet)@dalelear, I'm not sure if the fix for this got into RC1 of SR10... should it be working better now for Maurizio? thanks, -Pascal

I have Teams rooms set up with HP Slices in 3 of our offices, but many of our customers use Zoom as their meeting service. Is there a way to join a Zoom meeting easily from the Teams hardware we have installed?

@astraitman Not yet (at least, not in a directly supported way), but it's my understanding that this is a feature that is coming soon. Keep an eye on the Teams Rooms Release Notes. They just added support to join Cisco WebEx meetings, so it's likely Zoom won't be too far behind.

I actually just figured out a work-around for the time being. If you use the Admin password to log into the windows settings side of the Slice machine, you're actually using a regular windows interface. You can then use a browser to log into any of these other services as usual and join meetings. In my tests, the hardware (webcam, mic, speakers) all functioned normally.

@Jody Finch Is there any word on what hardware will support this feature? We are looking to build out Team Rooms in our conference rooms but we MUST have support for Zoom meetings as well. Don't like just setting up a laptop with W10 and forcing users to either login as themselves or a shared account.

@Jody Finch Thanks for the detailed response. I am using the Logitech Rally Plus (it is a certified device). I do not see the option Settings for Meetings. Also, I do not see the device listed under my Teams Admin > Rooms. The device is acting like a Room. I can use the proximity join feature as expected.

Perhaps Teams Room updates are blocked for some reason (firewall/proxy)? Perhaps you're on a GCC or other cloud that doesn't yet support TMR mgmt and updates? This could be a clue to why the room doesn't show up in the Teams Admin -> Teams Room portal for you too.

Are you able to get to the internet if you log into the Windows on the TRM ("Windows Settings" -> Admin)?

@Jody Finch What device is he using for Teams Room? I have the Nuc with Tap. That screen does not look like mine. For example, I have a blue bar at the top. I only have 4 options on the left; User Account, Features, Theming, Windows Settings. (screenshot below)

Our firewall does not block any outbound TCP/UDP traffic. We do have web filtering via the Palo Alto. I excluded this device to see if that makes any difference. We are not a government tenant. IF anything, we actually have first release enabled on all of our accounts and the tenant.

Still running into a few hiccups. For example, it seems to going to sleep and when it wakes, it can take a couple of minutes some times. I jumped into Windows and turned off all power savings and set it to max performance (it is after all an i7).

I can now manage the device through Teams Admin as well. However, I am surprised I cannot manage updates (or even check for updates). The device is also still running 1909 of Windows. Not sure why 20H1 is not available much less 20H2 at this point).

I was thinking about Intune but I thought devices in intune had to be licensed to a user. This is for a conference room. I suppose, since the conference room has a mailbox and a license, I could use that same account... right now, it is just using the default user account.
