After years of Gerard being a fixture in on-line bridge, he seems
to have left us.

Thanks for the memories, Gerard. You were a source of great
entertainment.

You spun such wild tales, that they kept us all mesmerized.
We showed up at your tables waiting to hear the next story
you would tell.

If it wasn't some fantastic feat you were supposed to have
accomplished, it was some life threatening illness that you
suffered.

Who could forget a guy who survived more heart attacks than
Dick Cheney?

Who could forget a guy who had the cojones to accept 3000
seeding points based on European championships that lived
only in your mind, and then try to turn it around as though you
were the victim when they were stripped from you and you were
put to shame over it?

Who could forget the guy that called the FBI over bridge
bullies? I'd love to see that file.

Who could forget a guy who went to a spine clinic for back
surgery and had 5 surgeons in the room to perform heart
surgery at the same time? Fantastic stuff.

Who could forget a guy who had a houseboy that supposedly
stole from him and then got thrown into jail?

Who could forget a guy who held chat rooms begging for money
to see him through a financial crisis.

Who could forget a guy that threatened to kill himself on at
least a half dozen occasions, once by rat poison of all things?

Who could forget a guy that claimed he was invited to participate
in the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne, when the equestrian events
were not even in Melbourne in '56?

Who could forget a guy that started the Santa Patrol, a webite
for parents and children, which advertised penis enhancing drugs?

Who could forget a guy who claimed he'd been shot at through
his kitchen window?

Who could forget a guy who spent so much time and energy
playing such bad bridge, all the while claiming to be an expert,
while losing thousands upon thousands of IMPs?

Who could forget a man that is the only human being known to
man that can self defibrillate, sometimes for an entire bridge
session? Truly remarkable.

Who could forget a guy who claimed he tried suicide by rat
poison, which produced "oozing" and gangrene which had to
be treated by a doctor in the parking lot of Starbucks, because
you claimed to be homeless for years (all due to bullies)?

Who could forget a guy that invent paralysis, blindness, heart
attacks, and homelessness, and then blame it all on others?

Who could forget a guy that claimed to be on the list for a heart
transplant, even though you refused to ever give up smoking?

Who could forget any of these things?

To sum it all up, Gerard, as Nat King Cole would say .....

Unforgettable .... that's what you are!

Truly a great observation. I wish I had the memory to list all the
time he has made ultimatums to leave BBO unless they accepted his
terms.'

Trust me - He will be back
