& in text crashes reportlab

Hi all - this is really the same as Adrian Klaver's post, but this may
cast a little more light on the subject.
I recently upgraded to the latest version of geraldo and got the
following error:
Deprecated String Exception: "xml parser error (bogus < or &) in
paragraph beginning\n'Brancusi & Duchamp - Regards H'"
the last line in the trace back being:
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/reportlab/platypus/paragraph.py in
_setup
Prior to the upgrade to the latest version of geraldo, this report ran
successfully.
