I would love to be able to create one prototype across the pages in a file that resembles an actual website. This would be ideal for bigger projects and would be easier to maintain as well. We can connect the component libraries across all the pages anyways. A way to connect the prototype would be great in my opinion and that will give Figma a big leg up on other platforms.
When creating a high quality prototype I felt it was necessary to link interaction with other pages. I have a page only of components of a project and I created a multi select component with dropdown interaction, among others, I simply wanted to import only the first multi select asset to a different page and it will be already linked with the interactions made on the component page . Do it for us Figma s2
Lots of times there is a feature I want to leave on a separate page till Dev have the time to work on it, so I can avoid distractions on the original page (where the current state of the app is shown). This requires me to do lots of duplicates if I want to provide a working prototype on the alternative page. That sucks.
There is so much that could be done with this feature.
Yes, it would help organize larger project.
One nice thing would be, if you have something like dropdown menus, tooltips, global interactions, etc, those could be organized in separate pages, and then the main UX prototype page(s) could link to those interactions.
You should now be able to click the Home and About links to navigate between pages. It does work, but the user experience is not great, as each link initially opens in a new tab and the interface changes.
When I share a prototype view by directly sharing the link (not by inviting people), how can I later disable or remove this link? For example in XD you have the "Manage links.." feature, where you can just remove shared links / prototypes.
I understand that of course it is more secure to invite people instead of using a public link that anyone can access, but that really feels just too much of a hassle for quickly showing and sharing the prototype with the client and the dev team (dozens of people in total). I don't really care if some "outsider" would see a glimpse of the mockup, we're not developing anything classified. But it would be nice to be able to delete the link when it has served it's purpose.
You can use the built-in presets, such as Design Review, Development, Presentation, User Testing, and Custom to share your documents and manage your shared links.
XD provides scenario-based presets to create shareable links for your designs with ease. For example, when creating a design link for review, all you have to do is select the available preset based on your requirement, set link access permission, and share it with your stakeholders. You no longer have to worry about setting commenting options or navigation controls.
Once artboards and interaction flows are defined in the Prototype mode, your design spec or prototype is ready to share. The title of your defined interaction flow appears in the Title pane. You can modify the title based on your design need.
In the View Setting drop-down, select any of the presets and set link access permissions to share your design specs or prototypes. Click Create Link. The URL appears in Link Settings pane.
As a designer, you can share flows within your designs or prototypes using any of the available sample presets and set permissions to reshare them further. Reviewers can add, remove, or accept requests from other set of reviewers who want to access or view the secure private link.
Watch this sample animation to learn how to share your designs for review and help reviewers reshare the designs or prototypes further.
When toggled on, link viewers can navigate between screens by using the Left and Right Arrow keys or by clicking the screens icon (). When toggled off, link viewers can only navigate between screens via hotspots.
When toggled on, viewers can navigate your screens by clicking any hotspots you've created. When toggled off, viewers can only navigate the prototype by using the Left and Right Arrow keys or by clicking the screens icon.
When you require user identification, viewers must enter their name and email address to view the prototype (unless they are already signed in to their InVision account).
Note: If you're on an Enterprise plan and require authentication for share links, you won't see this setting.
If you want to edit the settings of a share link you've previously created, you will be able to do it from the Manage share links page. See more information and the steps you'll need to follow in this article: Managing share links.
Publishing your Axure RP projects to [Axure Cloud][cloud] is the quickest way to share your prototypes with teammates and stakeholders. Once your file is uploaded, **you'll get a link to the published prototype that you can share with others** and...
Of course, you can always publish your prototypes locally and then upload the HTML folder to any web server, relying on the security of that server, website and/or network environment. Maybe this is what you are already doing within your organization. If so, I would recommend contacting your IT support or server admin to set up a security solution.
You can choose to link to a previous Artboard or any other Artboard in your document. Both of these options are also available when you select multiple Artboards, so you can Link multiple Artboards at the same time.
I am currently using a trial of Balsamiq wireframes for desktop. I am trying to find the URL for the prototype I created so I can paste in trymyUI to conduct a user test. I am a student doing this for a class, so I am just learning. Is this possible? I have tried to find the answer online but all I have found is that in Balsamiq Mockups there was a launch button that would show you the URL to share. I do not see that in the Balsamiq Wireframes for desktop.
Do I need a different version of Balsamiq? Is it available during the trial period?
I am trying to implement Redux to control my navigation bar links dynamically. I have a 'link active' feature on the navigation bar links, that are active depending on what page is shown. Through all the links I have within the application that go to varying pages, it seems easier to handle what nav link is active or not with a Redux store.
Via the useEffect() hook, anytime props.link updates, it will update that within the Links component state. This is how I think I would get the updated link from the store state every time it changes. Could be wrong, but this is my attempt.
The latest update messed this up! I have an XD project used to have prototype wires (by another designer) but not anymore. And now it has a "homepage" defined and won't share anything else on the link unless I link all the 50 artboards together. Super annoying and counter productive!
1) Go to the Prototype section. Zoom out to have an overall view of all the artboards.
2) You will not be able to see any of the Prototype lines. Press Command + A (Select All). Now your Prototype wires can be seen. This selects only the prototype wires.
3) Hit Delete.
Anima allows designers to create high-fidelity prototypes inside Sketch, Adobe XD, and Figma and exports them as HTML & CSS with a single click.
When you're ready to share a prototype, simply click on the Share button located in the upper-right area of the prototype page. This will open the access settings, allowing you to customize the level of access for each recipient.
The Enterprise plan offers the ability to set an expiration for shared links of your prototypes. This ensures that the link becomes inactive and inaccessible once the specified time has elapsed, providing an added layer of protection for your sensitive designs.
You can choose the desired expiration period when generating the shareable link. You can select from options such as 1 day, 3 days, or 1 week, depending on your needs.
To ensure an optimal viewing experience for your stakeholders, ProtoPie offers the flexibility to customize display options before sharing your prototypes. With a range of display settings available, you can tailor the presentation of your prototype to align with your specific requirements.
To customize the display options, simply click on the Gear icon, which will open a menu with various toggles. From there, you can select and activate the desired options that best suit your needs. These options allow you to control aspects such as device frame visibility, grid display, hotspots, and more. By toggling the settings, you can instantly preview and visualize how your prototype will appear to your stakeholders.
Once you have chosen the display options, you can easily share the prototype with your testers. Simply copy the link either by using the Copy Link option under Share or directly from the address bar. When your testers open the shared link, they will be able to view the prototype exactly as you intended, with all the display settings you activated.
Create a focused experience for stakeholders by eliminating visual distractions. Simply enable Scale to Fit and disable ProtoPie UI (and optionally Device Frame) when sharing your prototype. This allows stakeholders to fully immerse themselves in your prototype without any unnecessary elements.
Enhance the development process by pairing your prototype with interaction recordings for engineers. Sharing both the prototype and one or multiple interaction recordings ensures that engineers have access to all the necessary interaction specs for seamless development.
You can link wireframes together to create a simple prototype for your site or software application. This can be useful for demonstrating click-through prototypes or for usability testing when you're displaying your project in Full Screen Presentation mode or as an exported PDF.
