Colleagues,

This is IASC’s World Commons Week and they held a Video Contest about the Tragedy of the Commons.  There are five finalists for the video contest and THIS WEEK the  IASC and Ostrom Workshop Community are hosting Voting to select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, with winners to be announced at https://wcw2021.iasc-commons.org/ on December 12th. If you are a member of IASC or the Ostrom Workshop Community, you can vote this week (I am not quite sure how, but presumably by logging into your account).  For those who are not members and would like to cast a vote this week consider joining IASC

Now the ask: Prof. Elia Alves of  Universidade Federal da Paraíba has submitted a very nice video that is one of the five finalists.  The video shows how they teach the Tragedy of the Commons (I know we, on the list, have diverse views on this topic!). They do a nice job and also feature the game I developed years ago, that some on the list have used.

Watch the five videos here and if you think Prof. Alves’ video deserves a vote, please give it one.

https://wcw2021.iasc-commons.org/teaching-the-commons-video-contest-finalists/ and their specific video is on that page or at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP2wyNLVgR8 Teaching the Commons: A Remote Experience - for university students. Whatever bragging rights and money is awarded will go to Prof. Alves.

Thanks,

Ron
