This might be of interest to some amongst us… certainly interesting times to assume a position as climate and environmental policy program director in DC!
For those who are not familiar with Germany’s political foundations kindly be advised that in Germany every major political party that is represented in Germany’s national parliament („Bundestag“) is liaised with a publicly funded, legally independent, yet like-minded foundation that serves the primary purpose of political education. These foundations typcially also function as public policy think tanks with considerable research staff and it is also common for them to engage abroad and sustain overseas chapters.
The Heinrich Boell Foundation was established in 1996 and is closely associated with Germany‘s Green Party. As it happens, one of HBF’s two co-chairs is Imme Scholz, whom many GEP-eders will know and who served as deputy director to our institute, IDOS – German Institute of Development and Sustainability until 2022.
For the record, I am personally neither affiliated to the HBF nor to the Green Party, yet I do hold the HBF in high esteem and am therefore happy to share their job advert as included below.
All the best
Steffen
