Hi all,
I recently published an oped in the New York Times about Big Oil’s recent wave of industry consolidation, and what it means for climate politics & democracy. In short, I argue that allowing Exxon (and now Chevron) to grow bigger will make it harder to pass climate legislation & regulations in the future, thereby undermining the Paris agreement that these companies claim to support. In case it’s useful for teaching purposes, I attach the text here as a PDF.
