Dear colleagues,

Hope this email finds you well. I'm looking for a Postdoc (2-year) and a PhD (3-year full scholarship including international student fees) to join my team studying 'Sustainability Governance of China's Global Infrastructure Investments' at the University of Bath.

They will work for a large innovative project funded by my UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship. We will develop an ambitious research programme to advance understanding on China's influence on global sustainability transitions. We will draw on in-depth field research and mixed methods to assess China's efforts to promote green development in its overseas engagement and investigate the environmental and social impacts of China-funded infrastructure projects in different host contexts (Indonesia, Pakistan and Bangladesh). The project aims to generate novel insights into the processes through which Chinese investments support or hinder sustainable development in the Global South, and offer timely policy recommendations on sustainable infrastructure investments. The project team will also directly engage with a range of stakeholders including international organizations, national and local governments, civil society and businesses. Our international partners include Fudan University (China), Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia), University of Dhaka (Bangladesh), Sustainable Development Policy Institute (Pakistan), University of Oxford (UK), and National University of Singapore (Singapore).

These are wonderful opportunities for early-career researchers working on China in global environmental politics and sustainability transitions in the Global South. Below are the links to the two job adverts and June 2nd is the deadline for both positions:

Please circulate these opportunities in your networks and encourage suitable candidates to apply!

Thanks and have a nice weekend!

Best,

Yixian
