The Professorship for Sustainable Development within the Institute of Political Science (IfPol) and the Center for Interdisciplinary Sustainability Research (ZIN) at the University of Münster is seeking to fill the position of a

Postdoctoral Research Associate | Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in (salary level E 13 TV-L, 100%)

The appointment commences on 1 September 2024. We are offering a full-time position (with weekly working hours of currently 39 hours and 50 minutes) until 31 August 2028. Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.

Your tasks

  • Both independent and collaborative research including publications on sustainability, especially on sustainable consumption and democracy & sustainability
  • Independent teaching of 2 seminars per term (4 hours per week during the semester)
  • Collaboration in the context of research, teaching and knowledge transfer in the Center for Interdisciplinary Sustainability at the University of Münster

Our expectations

  • An above average PhD in a social science discipline is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in sustainability research is essential.
  • Sound English language skills, both written and oral, are required. German language skills are not a requirement, but a willingness to learn is desirable.
  • Expertise in research on the political economy of sustainability, especially sustainable consumption, and/or democracy and sustainability is desirable.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary work contexts is advantageous.
  • We also expect good team, communication, and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
