Dear Stacy,

Hope you are doing well here at the start of a new semester! As you may have heard, I am now at UVM where I moved last year from Purdue. It has been a great experience so far.

I’m writing because the University of Vermont is advertising a post-doc in political theory, and I wonder whether you might be able to get the word out to any qualified candidates you know.  The post-doc is for BIPOC candidates in particular.  It’s for two years, and the expectation is that they would transition into a tenure-track position at the end of it—so it’s a really nice opportunity.

I was hoping in particular you might have some ideas about individuals on the market working on Env Justice who might be a good fit. We would love to have a candidate thinking about EJ issues in this position, as you can see from the ad. And I can attest that UVM is a great place to do political theory and political science in general.

The ad just went up on the APSA jobs board, and here’s a link to the position description through UVM: https://www.uvm.edu/d10-files/documents/2024-09/Henderson-Harris-Fellowship-2024-25-Posting_Political-Science-1.pdf

Thanks for any help you can provide in spreading the word about this opening.

Best,

Leigh
