__________

The Department of Marine Affairs at the University of Rhode Island seeks the next generation of leaders in ocean and coastal stewardship! As the world’s first university program dedicated to ocean and coastal management, we provide degree programs at the Master and Doctoral level. We welcome students from a wide range of backgrounds and interests to our graduate programs.

The deadline for applying for our Master of Arts in Marine Affairs is December 15th, in order to be considered for funding, and February 1st otherwise.

Our multidisciplinary programs focus on the relationships between people and marine and coastal systems around the world. Marine Affairs students tackle critical topics including marine planning and conservation, climate change and coastal resilience, ocean and coastal law, offshore wind energy, ports and shipping, social justice and coastal community welfare, the history of coastal communities and the marine sciences, and international development. Please see a list of our research areas for more information. Our extensive network of graduates are national and international leaders in policy, management, and advocacy.

We are happy to talk with prospective students about their interests and their future in Marine Affairs. Please contact our Director of Graduate programs at MAF_grad...@uri.edu
