On World Reef Day, our ENB team explores 50 years of progress in protecting coral reefs - and what gaps are left to address.

All coral reefs will disappear with a 2°C increase in avg. global temperature. The global community knows solutions to protect coral reefs, but implementation is lacking.

However, local stressors and climate change are causing a sharp decline in coral reefs and the more than 230 international agreements with coral reef provisions have failed to protect these “rainforests of the sea.”  For World Reef Awareness Day, we dive into the current status of reefs and options to ensure their future.
