Hi everyone:
I know that many of you are probably not planning on going to Atlanta next spring. But if you are thinking about it, I'm toying with putting together a panel looking at theories of change or just the need for change in multilateral environmental agreements
and how they are functioning or not functioning. This could be expanded to any part of the UN system, to be honest. Given the current financial difficulties in the UN system in general and MEAs in particular — and the withdrawal of the US from many organizations,
maybe it is time to re-imagine MEAs. Should there be more synergies between MEAs? Should COPs be streamlined, merged, or re-imagined? What should be prioritized? Should the current system of decentralized MEAs continue?
I've been toying with this over the past few months and was wondering if anyone else is and would like to be part of a panel. If there is enough interest, I will ask for abstracts and submit the proposal. Time is running out since proposals are due on June
1st.
Thanks,
Pam
