Launch of Fuel to Fork podcast

Dear GEP-ed members,

 

I’m excited to announce the launch of ‘Fuel to Fork’, a brand new podcast series from IPES-Food that delves deep into the hidden ingredient in our food systems: fossil fuels, which may be useful in your teaching and research. 

 

Launched today (Thursday 24 October) – this exposé is a collaboration between IPES-Food, TABLE Debates and Global Alliance for the Future of Food. It exposes how fossil fuels power everything from farm to fork – and the options for reducing our dependence on them. 

 

In 7 episodes, it dives into some alarming trends – how food is responsible for 15% of global fossil fuel use; how this is growing even as other sectors are rapidly decarbonising. In short, food is becoming the new frontier for the fossil fuel industry.

With COP29 around the corner, it’s an important and timely message. If we want to tackle climate change, we can't leave food off the plate.
