Free Online Course: AI and Environmental Sustainability

I would like to share a new free online course that may be of your interest. 

AI and Environmental Sustainability is now available on Coursera: https://www.coursera.org/learn/ai-and-environmental-sustainability. 

Together with two colleagues, I developed the course as part of Lund University's MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) initiative.

The course provides a critical yet balanced perspective on the relationship between AI and environmental sustainability, covering:

• A framework for understanding AI for beginners
• Environmental impacts across the AI lifecycle
• The role of AI in addressing environmental challenges
• Implications of AI in environmental justice contexts
• Discuss the role of individuals, civil society, governments, and business in mitigating the environmental impacts of AI

The course is freely accessible and may be useful as a teaching resource. We hope it will be of interest to many.
