The Research Center on Resilience in Climate Crises and Disasters (CLIMARES), a Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center (RIDC) funded by FAPESP and based at the Institute of Energy and Environment of the University of São Paulo (IEE-USP), invites applications for one (1) FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship in the field of Environmental Sciences, with an interdisciplinary focus.

The fellowship is linked to the research project “The strategic position of the Brazilian housing movement in the face of climate change”, developed within CLIMARES Subgroup 9: Social Transformation in the Context of Climate Change.

Research description

The research aims to critically examine the discursive and non-discursive practices of housing movements in relation to climate change, analyzing how these movements position themselves within power relations and climate action networks, as well as how they articulate knowledge, subjectivities, and public policies.

The postdoctoral researcher will adopt an ethnographic approach and actively collaborate with social movements and with IEE-USP.

Requirements

• PhD degree completed;

• Fluency in English;

• Experience with qualitative research methods;

• Experience with and availability for fieldwork, in accordance with FAPESP regulations.

💰 Fellowship details

• Monthly stipend of R$ 12,570.00 (FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship);

• Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual fellowship amount, to cover research-related expenses.

The position is open to Brazilian and international applicants.
