Hi GEPers -

The Climate Solution Lab launched today an Iran War Energy Cost Tracker, showing the total cost to Americans of gasoline and diesel price increases since Feb 28 of $17 billion and counting:
https://iranwarcost.watson.brown.edu/

Obviously the global costs are far greater (and more unjust) but our main focus is getting information into the hands of the American public. See below for more details.

Subject: Iran War Energy Cost Tracker launch

New: Iran War Energy Cost Tracker
How much is the Iran war costing American consumers at the pump and at the household level?

The Climate Solutions Lab is please
d to announce the launch of the Iran War Energy Cost Tracker, a new data resource that tracks the gasoline and diesel costs of the Iran War for American households.

Access the tracker here: https://iranwarcost.watson.brown.edu/

ABOUT THE TOOL:
As the United States' military involvement in Iran continues to evolve, the Iran War Energy Cost Tracker provides real-time, publicly accessible data on the economic and energy costs of the war, with a focus on how surges in oil and gas prices are translating to increasing consumer costs across the country.

WHY THIS MATTERS:
The Iran War Energy Cost Tracker sheds light on a dimension of the Iran War that affects everyday Americans in immediate, tangible ways. With gas prices topping $4 per gallon nationally and diesel rising sharply, we believe the public deserves clear, accessible information about how U.S. military decisions shape economic realities at home.

We encourage you to share this resource with colleagues, students, journalists, policymakers, and anyone seeking a clearer picture of the costs of the current conflict. The tracker is free and open to the public.
