We at the Global Development Policy Center (GDP Center) are looking to hire an assistant director and researcher to co-lead our Global China Initiative (GCI). The GDP Center’s Global China Initiative examines the extent to which Chinese overseas economic activity and engagement with international institutions fosters a more stable, socially inclusive, and environmentally sustainable world economy. The program conducts policy-oriented research with Chinese partners and partners from host countries in Southern Africa, the Andean Amazon, and South and SouthEast Asia; hosts a fellows program for young scholars in this area, builds datasets, and engages with policy-makers and civil society across the globe.

The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Director and Researcher for the Global China Initiative will be to assist in setting and implementing the strategic research and policy agenda for GCI; to oversee the project cycle of various research and policy projects of the GCI; to supervise the GCI program coordinator and research group; to pursue a personal line of sponsored research activity; and to represent the GCI at various local and global research engagements.
