Dear GEP-ers,

We would like to draw your attention to the Radboud Summer School course on Transformative Change for Sustainability in Action, taking place 3 July – 7 July 2023 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

Societies are confronted with unprecedented environmental challenges endangering the lives and well-being of current and future generations of humans and non-humans worldwide. Business-as-usual is not the solution. Rather, it is widely acknowledged that we need systematic, society-wide transformations across technological, economic and social factors, including paradigms, goals and values to address the indirect drivers producing sustainability crises. But, how to achieve it? TransAct, the interdisciplinary research network working on sustainability transformations at the Radboud University, is organizing a summer school course on sustainability transformations and transformative governance. The course will combine conceptual discussions on what is transformative change, what are drivers and barriers for transformations, and what is transformative governance; but it will also introduce and explore approaches and methods that can initiate, facilitate or accelerate (transformative) change.

When? 3 July – 7 July 2023

Where: Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands

For Whom? Advanced master students and PhD-candidates

Fee: regular fee €390, early bird €351 (early bird: April 1st)
