Hi everyone,

A message specific to ESS will come out in the newsletter, but I just wanted to announce to the broader global environmental politics community that two environmental studies scholars have been named winners of the ISA-ESS Scholar Awards. They are (in alphabetical order):

Distinguished Scholar Award: Thomas Bernauer, Professor in Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences, ETH Zurich.

Engaged Scholar Award:  Peter Newell, Professor of International Relations, University of Sussex

I would like to thank the Scholar Awards Committee, chaired by Lily Hsueh (ASU), with members Laure Gosselin (Université Laval), Lauri Peterson (Uppsala University/University of Easter Finland), and Gaea Morales (Stanford U.) for their work on this matter. For ESS members, more information will be forthcoming when the program is finalized.

-KFG
