Hi all,
Prof. Marilyn Brown, Prof. Benjamin Sovacool and I have recently published a book entitled “Empowering the Great Energy Transition” (Columbia University Press).
The book begins with the premise that an energy transition is inevitable and in chapter one it introduces ten trends that support such a claim. However, we also acknowledge and are concerned that key obstacles will slow down the transition - engendering unacceptable costs as the perils attributed to progressive climate change worsen. Perhaps understandably, therefore, the book is about how to attenuate these obstacles.
To support use of the material in class, we have begun to produce videos which focus on the themes in each chapter. The video for the first chapter is available here:
I’m doing the videos when I have spare time so monthly releases will likely be ambitious. However, I will post video two (understanding climate change science and the impact it has on energy policy) to this mailing list when it is completed.
Stay safe everyone.
Best wishes,
Scott
