“Global Governance of the Earth System” is an educational initiative led by Dr. Rakhyun E. Kim from Utrecht University, Netherlands. While the course is primarily designed for postgraduate students at Utrecht University, it is also available to external students who register via the Earth System Governance Project.
Building on the success of the 2023 course, which attracted over 200 virtual participants worldwide and 30 Utrecht University students, this year’s course offers another comprehensive overview of the environmental, economic, social, and political trends shaping earth system governance.
The course, featuring 16 guest lecturers, focuses on global-level governance issues related to the earth system and consists of a series of lectures on the ESG research framework, climate and ocean governance, and the role of law. Each lecture will be delivered by two leading experts, ensuring a diverse and comprehensive learning experience that addresses both pressing issues and new global trends for broader societal transformation.
We encourage you to learn more and register on the Earth System Governance Project website.
Please share this opportunity with students and colleagues who may benefit from joining this free lecture series.
Best regards,
Blake
