This was more of a detour off I-35 than some of the other flags and Dashpoints
done last week on our Texas vacation, but I was particularly happy to visit
this Botswana flag. I'm reading some of the books in the "No. 1 Ladies
Detective Agency" series, and those books are set in Botswana, so a
particularly apt time to hit this flag. We left I-35E outside Waxahachie,
passing through Maypole and then taking small, rural roads into a hilly area of
prairie. Lots of sparse grass and widely-spaced small bushes, with scattered
houses set way back off the road. This flag is set 78 meters off the dirt road,
on high ground in a fenced field north of the road. Nothing really to note
here, other than high-tension power lines are visible in the distance looking
south, away from the flag. A couple hundred meters past the closest point to
the flag, the road makes a 90 degree turn, and a long dirt drive leads over a
ridge to a house and what looks like stables far, far off the road.
