Geovexilla high score for June

Congratulations to chaosmanor for achieving the Geovexilla high score in June (43 points). Honorable mentions go to sfcchaz (24 points), SoccerFanatics (21 points), and Webfoot (19 points). Eight players scored this month, the most in some time.

SoccerFanatics leads all players in lifetime score, with 6,906 points. In second place is Tom Arneson, with 6,293 points. Quite a ways back from those two, the next closest player is chaosmanor, with 4,579 points. 

June's game was the last for Geovexilla. Participation has been declining for years. It's time to wrap things up at GPSgames.org. So what changes now? No new flags will be generated. The game engine is still running, though, so you can still visit and report any of the 91,028 flags that are out there in the wild. Several hundred flags expire each day, so that number drops each day. But as long as your visit and report happens before either the flag expires, or the website does, it'll still go into the database. No date has been set yet for that latter deadline. Other actions, like rearranging flags in your collections to maximize your score, will still function for now. 

Thanks for all the great reports over the years. You've taken me to a lot of great corners of the world, to forests, seashores, deserts, mountains, even paddocks and cornfields. Best of all, I've gotten to go to all those places with some great people. The best thing about this community is how friendly it has been, year after year. There aren't many Internet communities I can say that about. Just know how much I appreciated it.
