Starting August 15, 2020, we are making a significant change to our GeoTools-CADPower software licensing policy.

In line with the prevailing industry standard and an overwhelming request from users to be able to use the software at a lower initial cost, we are moving away from perpetual licenses to subscription (rental) licenses.

GeoTools V21 single user license: $150/yr.

CADPower V21 single user license: $140/yr.

There is a promotion period of 1 month - starting August 15, 2020, during which you can buy the license at just 99$/year

Multiple-seats license is available with tiered pricing, to be published later.

Two-year subscriptions can be purchased with a 25% discount and three-year subscriptions can be purchased at 35% discount.

The move to subscription licensing will enable companies to ramp up and ramp down CAD users with a great deal of flexibility.

Although our list prices will show yearly rentals, we do support customized rental plans for periods that are less than a year as well.

Existing V21 perpetual license users can continue to use their perpetual licenses, they will be given the option to migrate to rental licenses with billing starting April 2021, the scheduled date for V22 release.

Existing earlier-than-V21 perpetual license users also can continue to use their perpetual licenses on the computers where they are currently running. There will be no technical support available for perpetual licenses older than V19, including for license transfer requests.

If you wish to own a perpetual license still, now is the time, until August 15, 2020.

If you want to buy the rental plan right away, you can do that now also @ the promotion price. Just contact me and I will get it for you!

Dear GeoTools-CADPower Users,

We have received a number of response and feedback to our license policy changes. We also realized that many of our users are on vacation until mid-August. In view of these, there are a few changes to the timelines and implementation policies:

  • The date for the switch over to rental licenses is pushed forward to October 1, 2020

  • The rental licenses are loved by some, hated by others. We understand the sensitivities of both camps. Please feel free to discuss with us your concerns and we will be happy to find a way out for you. Our goal is not to lose a single user due to this change.

  • Rental licenses will stay and will be the headline offering for our product but perpetual licenses may also will be available on a case-by-case basis. We are open to flexibility. Talk to us about your requirements.

Best Regards
Rakesh Rao
