The Netflix service does not create or show pop-up windows or tabs. If a pop-up appears while using or watching Netflix, you may want to check for harmful software or adware installed on your device and remove it.
Hello, I have had issues with my DVR recording shows while I am watching something on Netflix. The show records (if that is what you want to call it) but it does so with pauses and hiccups all through the show. It makes it impossible to watch the show with all of the stops and starts. Any idea on why this would happen? I have reset the DVR. I have reset my Smart TV. This has happened on more that one occasion. I would say more like 10+ times. So whenever someone in the house has something set to record via DVR nobody can watch anything on Netflix.
I haven't heard of this particular issue but it sounds like it could be a couple of things. I still would like to know the model # of the RG (modem) and DVR in case it is an isolated issue to those devices.
1. It could be a bandwidth issue. Although the set top boxes take first priority on the RG as far as bandwidth goes, the show you are watching on Netflix could be taking too much bandwidth from the stream attempting to record the show. Think about if you were watching several youtube videos at the same time, eventually it could cause the first one to start buffering i.e. the pixelation and freezing. My question would be what bandwidth are you currently paying for?
2. Wiring configuration. This goes partly back to the model # of the DVR. Different models can function with different wiring configurations, so I would want to look at that and see how it was connected back to the RG. Before that, make sure that the DVR and the TV are not being fed from a common switch. If you have a switch feeding both computers/smart TVs and set top boxes, it can cause this issue as well. It can be solved by simply separating the two categories onto their own switches.
Basically while I play with my PS4, I randomly hear the Netflix intro sound come out of the soundbar, at an unusually high volume. It happened a few times while playing games and one other time while watching TV through my decoder, so it happened on two different HDMI inputs.
This has happened to me a few times too. I use the Netflix app on the TV but also use the TV as a second monitor for my Mac and it is while being used this way I hear the ghost Netflix intro. Scares the bejeezus out of me since the audio is hooked up to the hifi.
Just wanted to bump this as I found it while searching a similar issue. However, I have a Sony Bravia Android TV, Vizio sound bar, and the only two consoles I've hooked up since I moved are my Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. So I'm concluding from our completely different setups, that the Netflix app is the culprit. I hear it randomly when everything is in sleep mode more often than when I'm actually using any of my devices, so it startles the hell out of my lol
This week, I've encountered strange behavior on two different Roku TVs in two different states. In both cases, while watching a show the app would suddenly stop and go back to the home screen. When resuming the show, it often would start playing a minute or two earlier in the episode than where it stopped. Also, the issue happens repeatedly, even after restarting the device. I've tested it on different internet sources, and that didn't make a difference.
Before I go the route of reinstalling apps or factory resetting, is anyone else experiencing something similar? This started about a week ago. It seems unlikely reseting will fix this gs as this is happening on more than one device in different locations.
I'm having the exact same issue but only on 1, my newest TV, a Roku TCL, 58 inch. Starts the episode on Netflix and with no warning stops and goes to the home page. i've tried everything from uninstalling to reinstalling the apps. Annoying to say the least.
There are a few possible reasons why your Prime and Netflix apps are crashing on your Roku TVs. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try before resorting to reinstalling apps or factory resetting:
Help, this problem just started for me in the last 24 hours on every TCL Roku Series 4, 5, 6 I own. Only Netflix and Prime crash, all other apps are fine. Tried restart, reinstall, no luck. Cannot figure out how to clear app cash, none of the TVs have Settings > System > Advanced system settings > App > Netflix/Prime Video > Clear cash option. Thanks.
Did you restart your Roku device before re-installing the channel? That step is crucial when performing the troubleshooting. If you haven't tried the suggested order (remove > restart > re-install), we would recommend giving it a shot once again. We also suggest doing the restart from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.) > System restart.
For detailed instructions, refer to this Support link: How do I resolve channel playback issues?"
Does the issue occur on the Netflix channel only or all channels on your Roku devices? What are the steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing? What troubleshooting steps have you already taken to try to resolve the issue?
My r7 370k GPU crashes while im watching netlflix or hulu. I can watch videos on youtube without a problem, and games work fine as well. It is reading a code 12 error code when I view the device in device manager. Anyone have any insight on this problem? thanks in advance
I am sure many of us could offer some advice unfortunately we really need the required information about your system to be able to begin to help and please include what software you are using to view the mentioned streaming services.
sorry for so much time passing for my reply. I usually watch Netflix in the Microsoft edge browser and according to device manager I am using driver version 23.20.15017.3010. let me know if you need any specifications. My BSOD reads system_service_exception and what failed is atikmdag.sys. Hope this of more help. thanks. Additional info: before the windows 10 creators update, my computer ran Netflix with no problems whatsoever.
Have you reported the issue to Microsoft and asked them what they changed and why their browser doesn't work since the creators update? You may want to do that as well as letting AMD know about it, which you still have not if you have not submitted an issue report or opened a support ticket. The links for those are in Radeon Settings, the driver download page or contact page on the AMD website. I have no idea what will fix this. I can only tell you I don't use edge ever, and netflix runs fine for me out of chrome and opera. I watch it all the time. My Windows and browsers are fully up to date. My suggestion would be to try another browser until hopefully MS and AMD figure out a fix. This is certainly not the first I have heard of issues like this. They have come and gone several times over the past couple years. One think you could try, not sure if edge allows this, I know the other browsers do, is to turn off hardware acceleration. This may help until there is a driver or software fix.
that sounds like an app problem. I would report that issue to Netflix as well. If nothing else they may be able to pinpoint where fault is and attack the issue from the other end. These issues can be hardware, driver, app or Windows itself.
Have exactly the same with the same card! Since an interface update they made early 2020.Prime followed the same interface and now has the same issues. But here it freezes, need to reset the pc. After reboot works fine. Seems totaly ramdom, and it is only whilst that dam pop out images from the program cover pops.
I had the error while using my sound card, after switching from the AMD hdmi sound which is to the television I have hooked up. Since then I have also disabled all the hdmi soundports as I use only the optical on my sound card to my stereo, and the usb on my hyperx. This seems to have corrected the problem in total.
I've got a question. When i watch a movie of serie on netflix, the screen sort of flickers, but still keeps playing the movie/serie. This keeps happening every 2 minutes or so. I have a macbook pro, 13' inch, early 2015. Version 10.12. 2,9 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 and Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB. Does anybody else has this problem and more importantly, does anyone knows the solution?
I had this on my rmbp 13 2016 without touchbar and all I had to do to fix the problem was turn off automatically adjust brightness in the Display settings. Hope this helps someone... I appear to be the only 2016 model to have experienced this????
I have this issue currently - the video seems to "jump" to the left and then jump back in a split second, about every minute or so when watching Netflix full screen in safari. Same model - 13" MacBook Pro Retina.
I wish I could try that, since it sounds like a potential solution for the problem. But it looks like the option to disable this is no longer available on macOS High Sierra v.10.13.1, or am I mistaken?
@jeremy_v, we've attempted lots of possible solutions to no avail. It still happens to us MBP owners and it's really disappointing that such a new device is receiving this kind of issue. Is there any way Apple could give us a deeper support in this issue?
I bought the hp envy 360 a bit over a year now and 3 days ago I notticed the flickering while watching netflix and sometimes on youtube; When it flickers, is every second almost and with each flickering I see some green pixel like squares, almost like a volume graphic (I'm sorry my computer vocabulary is poor and this is the only way I can describe it); I installed the silverlight and I always use chrome or firefox so Is not an edge browser problem in fact, Im not even sure what the problem is and I would hate to already have a problem with this relatively new laptop. Help anybody?
