System and platform engineering for earth observation data

Dear all, 

at the German Remote Sensing Data Center within the German Aerospace Center (DLR) we have a position open of system and platform engineering for satellite missions and earth observation analysis platforms. 

Systems engineering for data and workflow management for satellite missions and evaluation platforms in the field of Earth observation:

• Planning, development, configuration, and integration of ground segments and platforms for Earth observation during the setup and development phase
• Integration of partner systems via external interfaces, coordination and execution of system tests
• Planning and execution of operational handover and training
• Coordination of technical activities in project teams and specialist groups
• Contributions to specialist conferences and (international) technical standards, as well as exchange within the European community

Development of software systems for the provision and processing of large amounts of data in the field of Earth observation:

• Feasibility and requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, testing, documentation, delivery, and maintenance
• Analysis and selection of software technologies and coordination with external partners
