Trimble Advanced Positioning is offering a full-time position opportunity for a professional experience in geodetic survey, geomatics or information technology (IT) to join our team in Munich, Germany. The selected candidate will be working with a team that monitors and manages the operational networks that deliver Trimble’s unprecedented global real-time service CenterPoint RTX™, along with the well-established portfolio of regional Trimble® VRS Now™ real-time services. These are subscription-based GNSS correction streaming services that are delivered from our server systems via internet or satellite broadcast and which enable our customers to do precise GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) positioning.
The selected candidate will remotely monitor and operate high-availability server systems with redundant backup configurations in a highly motivated, international team of system operators located in Munich, Germany, Perth, WA, Australia, and Westminster, CO, USA. You will be monitoring, operating and working as part of a 24x7x365 "Follow the Sun" network operations team in these three regional time zones. Additionally the candidate will focus on keeping CORS infrastructure alive as well as building monitoring and automation based on metrics coming from the monitored services.
A limited amount of domestic and international travel will be required mainly for training purposes and team meetings, as well as network support and deployment needs (Less than 10%). We do provide a flexible working environment thus remote work is possible.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring and maintaining of real-time GNSS correction services
Monitoring of the global CORS infrastructure with remote troubleshooting
Provide 3rd level support to the Trimble Advanced Positioning customer care team. Give technical advice and answer general service questions.
Skills & Experience Required:
2+ years experience working in a technical environment
Basic practical knowledge of IT networking and computer network solutions
Intermediate knowledge about GNSS system
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Outgoing personality, easiness to reach out to people
Good verbal and written communication skills in English within technical context.
Desired Skills:
A bachelor’s or associate's degree in computer science, information technology, geomatics, geodetic surveying, or related field
Experience in geodetic surveying and intermediate knowledge about GNSS system
Hands on experience with Trimble or other brand GNSS hard- and software.
Experience in data analysis and building IT service monitoring systems (e.g. with Grafana).
Experience in IT operations and process automatization.
