doesnt send an sms message

I'm on a nexus one and, interestingly after I paid the donation fee,
when I go send geosms the screen returns to the map and no sms is sent
or received. Im sending these messages to both my wife's and my own
mobile phone and neither of us are receiving. Also there are no
confirmation or error messages on geosms So unless u contact the
person u r sending to you wont know the geosms txt has not been sent.

Is this a bug or am I doing something stupid

Strange!  Thank you for contacting me.   Do you mind a few questions to help isolate this problem:

1. When you send the message to your wife are you entering the number as a number, or are you choosing her from the contacts list?
2. Which cell phone company are you using?
3. If you use the built in android Messenger SMS application to send a text to the same number, does it work there?
4. Do you mind giving me your phone # (send to kev...@geeksville.com) so I can try sending a GeoSMS from my phone?  (I won't keep it around/use it for anything else)

I use the contacts database built into android

The telco service company is an outfit called giffgaff

My phone number is +44 7785 778639 and do go ahead and use it for
testing this thing out

If I use the built in Android txt messaging app on both these numbers
it works OK

Clarification on the issue: my wife now reports she did get the geosms
message I sent. However I also sent the same message to my own number
and that hasn't been received

Hi Mike,

I just sent you three test messages.  Did you get them?  As an aside: this week I'll add a feature to pop up a message when the message is sent and (if the carrier provides that info) when it is delivered.

To accommodate flaky networks I'll add an option to send a few SMSes (and then remove the dups on the receivers side) - it will probably be a couple of weeks though before the next release.
