How to i18nize import (imposm) and admin area label style (GeoServer CSS)?

Hi,

I've been using this project for a while now and have finally hit a use case where i need to generate maps with localized admin labels based on browser language or some URL parameter appended to the GetMap URL. Has anybody dealt with i18nization already and might be able to give me some pointers as to how to get it done?

I don't need a general approach where all labels are translatable to 200+ languages. Being able to output maps with localized labels in three to five different languages would rather suffice.
