GeoScout has the nifty tool that allows you to get an average reading over many readings to get a co-ordinate…really good when placing caches (wished everyone did this!!!) ;)

I reckon it would be sweet if there was an option that when you get close to a cache with average GPS readings that you could stand still…face north…and click a button that allowed the GPS to do it’s averaging routine and then give you a compass bearing (assuming you face north) that points in the direction where the cache should be (if the owner used averaging to hide the cache in the first place)…this would be a godsend in those environments where the GPS has you scrambling 20m in various directions…you end up standing in one place after a while and watch the trackpoints swirl around you until you feel that you’ve got an idea which way the cache is
