Washington State University’s Agricultural Weather Network
(AgWeatherNet) seeks applicants for a Director/tenured faculty
position, 80% Agricultural Research Center and 20% Extension in Agro-
Meteorology, located at the WSU Irrigated Agriculture Research &
Extension Center (IAREC) in Prosser, WA.

Job Requirements
Required:Earned Ph.D. in agricultural sciences related discipline such
as agrometeorology, plant pathology,entomology, biological systems
engineering, horticulture, soil science and a minimum 5 years of
experience in agricultural meteorology, with documented experience in
agricultural meteorology related to agro-ecosystems, crop, insect, and/
or disease modeling or forecasting. Demonstrated record of effective
and visionary leadership. Demonstrated supervisory and administrative
experience appropriate to directorship of this statewide program.
Record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals suitable forappointment
as Professor or Associate Professor.Desired:Demonstrated ability to
conduct effective outreach activities and interactions with client
groups and stakeholders. Record of successful participation on
multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated ability to communicate
effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to
conduct quality research publishable in peer-reviewed scientific
journals, and secure extramural funding. Demonstrated ability to
develop and work with other research scientists and extension
educators in conducting effective educational and field demonstration
programs. Demonstrated skills in program, budget, and
personnelmanagement. The successful candidate will participate in
graduate education and mentor graduate students.
