Dear Rescue Partners,
We are reaching out with a rescue/adopter plea for a special cat currently in our care who requires advanced diagnostics and continued medical support.
Boo Boo is a 7.5-year-old, 10.3 lb male Domestic Shorthair who was found as a stray on Village Run in Lawrenceville, GA on January 15th. He was not microchipped, and unfortunately no owner has come forward to reclaim him.
🩺 Medical Concerns
Boo Boo has been experiencing chronic nasal disease accompanied by intermittent nosebleeds (epistaxis). Staff have not observed a consistent pattern related to sneezing, and despite multiple treatments, the issue continues.
To date, Boo Boo has received:
• Multiple antibiotic courses, including doxycycline, Clavamox, and azithromycin
• A nasal flush procedureUnfortunately, the bleeding persists, and a diagnostic scope is strongly recommended to help determine the underlying cause.
Recent diagnostic testing has also revealed additional findings:
• CBC: Mild anemia
• Chemistry: Low albumin (hypoalbuminemia)
• Urinalysis: Protein and blood present in the urine
• T4: Normal
• FeLV PCR: Results consistent with a regressive FeLV infection
Further medical evaluation will be important to better understand and manage Boo Boo’s condition moving forward.
💙 Temperament
Despite his ongoing medical challenges, Boo Boo has remained incredibly sweet. He is friendly, social, and affectionate with staff, and he continues to seek out attention and companionship from the people caring for him.
Boo Boo has been microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.
🏥 What Boo Boo Needs
Boo Boo urgently needs a rescue partner or committed adopter who can pursue advanced diagnostics and provide continued medical care to identify the cause of his chronic nosebleeds and help manage his health long-term.
If you are able to assist Boo Boo, please contact us as soon as possible. If you are unable to pull or adopt him directly, sharing his story with other organizations or potential adopters would be greatly appreciated.
