106 Days. That’s how long Polo’s been waiting. 

Meet this sweet 3-year-old, 80lb lovebug who just can’t seem to catch a break 

He’s everything you could want in a dog — friendly with people, great with other dogs. The kind of dog who leans into you for pets and just wants to be close. The kind of dog who would be your loyal companion through it all. And yet… he’s still here. Every day he waits, hoping it’s finally his turn to go home. He doesn’t understand why he keeps getting overlooked — he just keeps wagging his tail and loving everyone he meets.

He deserves more than a kennel. He deserves a couch, a family, a second chance.

Please consider adopting or sharing to help him find his way out.  One hundred and six days of watching people walk by his kennel, hoping—every single time—that this is the one. And every single time, he’s ready. His whole body wiggles from nose to tail, like he can’t physically contain how happy he is just at the possibility of being chosen.

Polo is a big boy—around 80 pounds—and yeah… he has no idea how big he is. When he gets excited, you’re going to feel it. But that excitement? It’s pure, genuine joy. He loves everyone. There is not a stranger in his world.

He’s not tiny. He’s not fluffy. He’s not some trendy, picture-perfect, purse-sized dog people line up for. He’s just… Polo. A big, goofy, happy dog who has been overlooked for way too long.

And here’s the part people need to understand—dogs like Polo don’t come pre-programmed. They’re not robots. They don’t walk into your home knowing your routine, your rules, your expectations. It takes time. It takes effort. It takes consistency.

But Polo is ready for that.

He walks well on a leash, knows his basic commands, and more than anything—he wants to learn. He wants to belong to someone. He wants to feel safe. He wants to be loved.

Every dog in that building deserves a second chance—to get it right for the first time.

Polo is no different.

He doesn’t need to be perfect.

He just needs someone willing to give him a chance.

This is White Chocolate! He has been at the shelter for 75 days too long. He needs out of the shelter! He is around 50lbs and he is dog friendly. He loves people. He was brought in as a stray. He keeps getting looked over but those sweet little eyes are hard to ignore! He is around a year old and he is on the schedule to be neutered. He wants a home to call his own. He is going to make a family a great dog.

Where are my senior dog lovers at? And/or Shepherd lovers? This is Maxine! She came to us as a stray a few weeks ago when she wandered up to someone's yard and didn't leave. Maxine loves everyone and is looking for a warm bed to live her life out in. She is on the schedule to be spayed and she is already microchipped and up to date on shots! Someone come meet Maxine and fall in love! Maxine is a senior—likely around 10 years old—and she carries every bit of that “little old lady” energy in the best way. When she came in, she had been neglected for a long time. Her coat was completely matted—down to her skin—and she smelled like no dog should ever smell. But even then, she never lost her dignity. During her bath, she was… incredible. She stood perfectly still while I lathered her up, then gently laid down like she knew I was trying to help her. No fighting. No panic. No whining. Just quiet trust. That tells you everything you need to know about her. Maxine is the sweetest soul. She doesn’t ask for much—just love. Real, steady, gentle love.
She walks beautifully on a leash, takes treats so softly, and has this little “trick” where she sits, looks up at you with those big, pitiful eyes… and somehow convinces you to give her just one more. (She absolutely knows what she’s doing, by the way.)
Now, she is a senior, and like any older lady, she’s earned the right to not deal with chaos. She’d do best in a calmer home or with dogs that respect her space. That said—she tolerated one of the most over-the-top, high-energy dogs we had without a single issue. So she’s got patience… just not interest in nonsense.
She did everything right while she was here. No problems. No drama. Just a good dog who deserved better than what she got.
Maxine doesn’t need a lot of years.
She just needs the right ones.
A soft place to land.
A quiet home.
Someone who will finally show her what it feels like to be safe, clean, and truly loved.
There is someone out there who has room in their heart for a senior.
