A Brief Update

Hey GSWAG, 

Hope you all had an awesome weekend! It was great to see many of you at the party last night! We hope to have many more social events this semester (from dinners to pregames). 

Survey -  I just want to remind you that the returning member survey closes in about 40 minutes. Please complete it if you wish to stay on the listserv. The E-Board will disclose decisions about new speechwriters and track assignments by the end of this week.

SOTU -  Also, the State of the Union address is this Tuesday. I hope everyone catches a piece of the speech! Max Harris found an awesome behind-the-scenes special focusing on the speechwriting process that goes into writing the State of the Union. Check out how long the Communications Department at the White House works on the State of the Union! It's incredible! 

Clients -  Finally, a brief work-related update. We have just secured an agreement to work with PRS, Inc., a nonprofit that works to improve the lives of mentally-ill patients and allow them to become stronger contributors to society. Additionally, we are working for ALIVE!, a charity group based in Alexandria, New Hope Housing, a group that works to end homelessness in Fairfax County, and Brain Injury Services, a group that helps brain injured patients reintegrate into society. These groups do incredible work in their communities and we are so honored to have the opportunity to accomplish their mission. I will provide these updates over the course of the semester in order to keep you all informed and interested.
