Hey GSWAG,

Hope you had a great weekend and have some fun plans for Super Bowl Sunday! Whether you're rooting for the Seahawks, Broncos, or this year's Doritos commercials we have some exciting plans and updates to report on.

JEFF NUSSBAUM! - Jeff Nussbaum, a partner at West Wing Writers and a former campaign speechwriter for Joe Biden, is coming to speak to us this Wednesday at 7 PM in ICC 103. This is one of the biggest names we've ever brought to campus and I would love to see everyone there! I can't make it mandatory but I strongly recommend that everyone attends; it's going to a great event (there will be pizza as well)!

OPERATIONS MEETING - Mike Knuth and Tarren Peterson will be hosting a meeting for the entire Operations department tomorrow at 7:30 PM in WAL 494B. This meeting is very important so plan on attending if you are in the Operations department. Contact Mike or Tarren if you have an unchangeable conflict for any reason.

NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIPTION - Please subscribe to our newsletter! We are trying to rebuild our subscription list and need everyone's help. Go to our website and click the "Subscribe" link in the top right-hand corner. Share this with your friends and family too!

SHIRTS - I still have about 15 or 20 shirts that members have not picked up. I will bring the shirts to the event on Wednesday so make sure to bring $10 in cash to pay for them.

PAT HAGGERTY - Sophie's uncle, Pat Haggerty, is a speechwriter and presenter who has written for Members of Congress and others will be coming to speak to us on February 25th at 8 PM. Mark your calendars for another great event coming soon!

MORE CLIENTS! - We have begun talking to 2 new prospective clients. One, Global Caravan, is a 501(c)(3) that is working to build lasting educational solutions in West Africa. This includes building libraries, training teachers, and instilling a culture of education. Mike and I met with Mr. Aka, the founder and CEO, who is an incredible individual and who we are honored to work with. More details to follow but look at their website and start to spread the word!

We are also talking to the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria. Tarren and I will be talking with their representatives this week and hopefully we can pin down exactly how we can help them achieve their goals! More details coming!

GUSA CAMPAIGNS - As most of you probably know, GUSA campaigns are starting up and many of you may be asked to help a campaign out. If you're interested, go for it! However, I want to stress the fact that GSWAG will not endorse any ticket as a group unless every member is working for the same ticket (that won't happen haha).

Thanks for reading such a long email, but see you all Wednesday!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!
-Will
