Ask County to plan for public transit

On June 29th an executive summary of Williamson County's Long Range
Transit Plan plan was presented in the County Commissioners Court and
comments were heard from the public. Mr Mike Weaver presented the
plan and stated very clearly that growth in Williamson County will out
pace our ability to build roads (even after taking the economic
downturn into account.) He said "You can't build your way out of
congestion" faced with the kind of growth we anticipate. Despite his
warning, there were no current public transit projects described. All
current projects presented in any detail were new roads and road
widening.

Public input on the plan must be submitted by July 9th. Ask our
county officials to make public transit a priority. Go to
