Transit will be discussed both at the next City Council Meeting and at the workshop before the meeting. The Georgetown City Council will meet on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Council Chambers at 101 E. 7th Street.
At 3:00pm there is an informational workshop. The first item on the agenda is a discussion of how our census designation effects our access to State and Federal funding for transit. There is no opportunity for public input at the workshop, but your presense there would show support and interest in transit.
At 6:00pm the regular City Council meeting begins. Four folks from Southwestern University have requested to speak before City Council on the importance of public transit: Dr Edwards and students Colin Berr, Tylor Hugley, and Brandee Knight. Your presence would support the effort they are making to steer Georgetown away from heavy car traffice and towards more trains, buses, car pools, etc.
You can also view the proceedings on Suddenlink Channel 10 or watch live on the internet at

site also holds recordings of meetings and workshops, so if you can't
watch live, you can watch the recording any time afterward.
Please either show up or watch the workshop online and let your City Council Member know what you think .
