With its intuitive Loopeye editing environment, high-quality pitch, key, scale and tempo manipulation algorithms and huge collection of Elastik-ready sample libraries covering almost every conceivable musical genre, Elastik is a powerful workstation for loop-based music creation. It can be used either as a standalone application or as a plugin for almost any DAW on both Windows and MacOS platforms.

You have complete control over the scale and key of any tonal loop, even with polyphonic material, with the ReTune tab in the Loopeye editor. The algorithm, developed by zplane.development, analyses polyphonic and monophonic material in real time and transforms it into the desired key and scale while maintaining high audio quality. Enter custom scales via the matrix or choose from preset scales to customise any loop to your project. Use ReTune for creative sounddesign with controls for sensitivity, transients, smoothing, pitch correction and dry/wet.

Choose from six different time-stretching algorithms on the Time tab: from the simple PitchSpeed to the high-quality ProV3, with maximum scope for tempo variation while minimising audio artifacts. Everything is very efficient and CPU-friendly. Also included are FX options for creative sound manipulation.

Elastik includes a random sound replacement feature called INSPIRE: one click on the Inspire button and Elastik will select an alternative loop, providing just that extra bit of inspiration when you need it. All this can be done on the fly, without leaving the Elastik environment. The new Inspire Browser lets you choose which soundbanks to use in the Inspire pool.

While Elastik is a hugely creative tool, it also maintains an extremely efficient workflow. The streamlined browser means that no matter how big your Elastik loop library gets, you can always find the right loop in an efficient way. Elastik also includes advanced tagging and filtering features, making it easy to narrow down any search. The browser allows you to easily prelisten loops in BPM, key and scale sync to your project.

Once you have identified the loops you want to use in your project, they can be mapped to Elastik's virtual keyboard or pads, ready to be triggered from within Elastik, from your MIDI keyboard or from your host sequencer. A range of triggering methods are available to ensure that your loops stay in sync with your project. Elastik's sophisticated time, pitch, key and scale shifting algorithms - powered by zplane's cutting-edge audio processing technology - maximise audio quality, giving you independent control over all parameters and maximum flexibility to match loops to the tempo and key of any project.

In order to take the Elastik player to the next level, Ueberschall teamed up with zplane development (zplane.de). Together they have come up with Elastik 2, freshly designed to match all future needs for working with loops and samples. Apart from its new graphic interface, Elastik 2 offers a whole new range of desirable features: the self-explanatory browser, designed for fast access to any loaded sound libraries. Browser features: The multiple filter search function allows quickly to find sounds. Listen to the whole library content in-sync to host tempo and tag favourite samples.

The Elastik player allows you to adapt any loop to your current project in BPM, scale and pitch. The intuitive browser manages all Elastik libraries for immediate access to all samples. This way, loops from Tenor Saxophone can be combined easily with all installed Elastik libraries. Functions such as resample, formant and reverse as well as an effective multi mode filter enable creative sounddesign.

When it comes to solo brass, only the real thing can deliver the full expression and authentic character of the instrument. With its fatter, darker tone, in the hands of a skilled player, the Flugelhorn can bring a mellow and airy timbre full of character to almost any musical project. Flugelhorn 2 is part of the Elastik Instrument Series and features the outstanding playing of Axel Beineke. The sound and playing in Flugelhorn 2 capture the instruments character to perfection, creating a sophisticated, late-night, intimate mood.

The sound and style is reminiscent of Jazz Flugelhorn maestro Till Brnner and these soulful lead lines would work perfectly for RnB, Soul, LoFi, Lounge and, of course, Jazz. Flugelhorn 2 complements other releases from the Instrument Series like Acoustic Bass 2, Downtempo Guitar or Tenor Saxophone. The library is a perfect choice for producers or media composers looking to add a touch of genuinely classy brass to their next downtempo, jazz-influenced, composition.

Credits: Flugelhorn played by Axel Beineke whose credits include Al Porcino Big Band, Albert Mangelsdorff, Connexion Latina, Charly Antolini, NDR-Big Band, Herb Geller, Roger Cicero and many more.

Ueberschall has announced an update to the free Elastik Player for Windows and macOS. Version 3.5 comes with optimized algorithms, macOS 10.15 Catalina support, and various other additions, improvements and fixes.

Many thanks to regular contributors Shannon McDowell, Medway Studios, ThaLoops, Richard Hasiba, blortblort, Triple Spiral Audio , Wolfgang Gaube, Sounds2Inspire, Tonedeff, ModeAudio, Jonathan Litten, George Napier, Biswadeep Ray, Yonatan, Reynn, IzOhm, and HLplanet for supporting Rekkerd!

And of course, which sample engine has the best RAM and CPU performance. I would also love a mix of RAM vs disc streaming as opposed to loading in everything in RAM. Omnisphere, Keyscape etc. does this amazingly well for a good balance!

hello,
well i use mainly kontakt because a lot of library i use run with kontakt
i have also for some composition use eastwest player and best-service Engine
regarding the processor load engine use a lot i have the forst kingdom II library and desert wind, sound great, but the engine use more processor than kontakt
as regard the player from eastwest it is the same use of processor than kontakt
if i had to order my choice on player

I hate Kontakt and will not buy anything that only uses Kontakt. To start with it renders at 4ppm on the screen which is below 2020 vision tests and if you dont wear magnifiers you will have trouble seeing some print. That is why I will not use it. I use Spitfire GUI and the Sine player both far superior to Kontakt. I wish sample people like Cinematics Studio Series would not rely on Kontakt. I have told them I would like to buy, but will not while they use Kontakt. The more punters who refuse to continue with Kontakt unless they make the screen renderable as a minimum the better

As usual, inelastic and elastic hands (more specifically ranges) are just the terms behind a concept that you've probably considered whilst in the middle of a session, or glossed over whilst reading other strategy articles.

We prefer to work with ranges because it's unlikely that you're going to be able to put your opponent on one specific hand. So it's more useful to determine whether our opponent's range -- as opposed to hand -- is elastic or inelastic.

Alternatively, you could be more accurate by splitting your opponents range (the one you've assigned to them) in to elastic hands and inelastic hands. Using hand combinations you could then work out the percentage of each type of hand in that range. If there are more than 75% elastic hands, then you could call it an elastic range.

Playing against an inelastic range is easy. All you have to remember is that your opponent already has a fixed decision in their mind, and your bet size is not going to have any effect on that decision.

You can easily take advantage of an inelastic range by betting big with your strong hands (as your opponents will just as happily call a big bet as they would a small bet), and by betting small with your bluffs if you think your opponent will fold (as your opponents will just as happily fold to a small bet as they would to a big bet).

If your opponent has an inelastic range and you want them to call, you should bet big. If you bet small you are missing out on value due to the fact that your opponent is just as likely to call a small bet as they are a big bet.

1) If our opponent has a strong hand like top pair or better, they are going to comfortably call any size bet on this flop. For the most part, they are going to be just as happy to call a pot-size bet as they would be to call a half-pot size bet.

2) Any other hand on this flop would be considered weak. If our opponent has any other hand like a pair of 2s or a low pocket pair (these are the at the top of their "weak range"), they cannot comfortably call a bet. They are equally as likely to fold to a half-pot bet as they would to a pot-size bet.

If we plan on making a continuation bet bluff with a hand like AK, we should bet small -- around $6. A half-pot size bet will achieve the same result as a pot-size bet, so we should bet small to minimize our losses when our opponent does have a hand worth calling with.
