Example applications/organisational use cases of GeoPandas

Hi there,

A colleague asked me recently if there are any examples of GeoPandas being used in 'large' (deliberately vague..?!) projects, or organisations? Does anyone have any examples from personal experience or otherwise? We are using it at the British Geological Survey, for a variety of small 'scripting' style applications, for example.

Hi Declan,

From talking with people at (EuroScipy / GeoPython) conferences, I know some companies / organisations where they use GeoPandas, but to what extent (for big projects or only smaller/individual scripting), I don't really know. Would be interested in knowing that more myself as well!

Is there a specific reason you are asking that (eg to gauge to what extent it can be relied upon for big projects), or just out of curiosity?
