– 2016 Application deadline: October 27, 2014 This is a professional development program for the best and brightest global community leaders working in Transparency and Accountability; Tolerance and Conflict
Resolution; Environmental Issues; and, Women and Gender Issues. Up to sixty-five eligible individuals will be selected to receive the 2015-2016 Community Solutions Program fellowship and will participate in: A Four-month U.S. Fellowship: Leaders are placed in U.S. community-based, non-profit or government offices across the U.S. where they work with American community leaders. Community Leadership Institute (CLI): Leaders will develop practical leadership and organizational management skills through online and in-person training. Follow-on Projects: Leaders, in partnership with their U.S. host organizations, will develop follow-on community development projects or initiatives to be completed upon return to their home countries. | INVESTING IN LEADERS FOR STRONGER COMMUNITIES The recruitment process will be entirely directed by IREX. They’re looking for educators with teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language or English Applied Linguistics. The program will include the following courses: Language Learning Theories, The Study of the Language System, Teaching Methodologies, Foreign Language Testing and Assessment, Introduction to Educational Research, Discourse Analysis and language Awareness, Issues in TESOL, Materials Development, Production, and Evaluation, Curriculum and Syllabus design. It offers information to all those who wish to study abroad in programs for an Associate’s degree, a Bachelor’s degree, and in graduate or postgraduate studies in the USA. EducationUSA Internships allow students enrolled in accredited U.S. institutions to share details of American life, academic programs, and fields of study either in person or through the Virtual Student Foreign Service Program. Location: Instituto Cultural Domínico-Americano in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic Supervisor: Rosa Rodriguez, Advising Center Manager Length of service: 20 hours per week; Length of time 6 months.
