Polygons from Geonames

Hello,

when accessing geonames via the web interface I am able to get a geometry representation of for my search terms (e.g. administrative units or even cities).

However, the database dumps only include the geometries for countries (http://download.geonames.org/export/dump/) .

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a dump of all the geometries?

I was wondering the same. The best answer I found is in this post form Marc (GeoNames admin):

"simplified country polygons are now available in the download directory. We are still figuring out best format, optimal size and what will be free and what will be premium. 

all polygons in highest possible resolution will be available as premium option."

So, apparently is not possible, and even when it will be, it will be only for paid users.
